SEMI FINAL
DE LA SALLE 2-4 ST OLIVER'S

St Oliver's travelled up to Oriel Park to take on competition favourites De La Salle in this semi-final and the visitors started strongly, showing a good attitude and determination from the start. Andrew Stewart scored for St Olivers in this early period of dominance. The home side rallied however and started to keep the ball better and before long they scored a deserved equaliser. Midfielder Aaron Kenna made a very good start to the game for St Olivers and was controlling the middle third. Crucially he intercepted a pass in his own half and began a counter attack, sending Conor Haggins through on goal and the striker made no mistake with his finish to put st Olivers 2-1 up. Once again however De la Salle responded after a mistake in the St Olivers defense to leave the teams level at the break.
Nathan Lewellyn put St Olivers 3-2 up early in the second half with a well taken penalty. St Olivers took control in the second half and left back Conor Whelan made sure of the victory with an excellent free kick.
Best for St Olivers were; Aaron Kenna, Reece Mc Evoy, Conor Haggins, Dylan O Hare and Nathan Lewellyn.

FINAL
ST MARY'S DUNDALK 1-2 ST OLIVER'S
St. Oliver's have been crowned U17 North East Leinster champions after a hard fought 2-1 victory over St. Marys "the Marist"  Dundalk, at Oriel Park Dundalk, last Tuesday the 3rd of February. St. Oliver's went a goal down mid way through the first half but fought back with a goal from Connor Haggins and a wonder strike form Aaron Kenna before half time to lead 2-1 at the interval. Despite a Marist onslaught in the second half and due to the hard work in defence of Reese McEvoy, Dylan O'Hare and Conor Whelan and the midfield leadership of Kyle Molloy, the Ollies boys held on for a well deserved victory. The u17 now move to compete in the Leinster finals.
